The Moment You Stop Expressing Yourself, You Begin Abandoning Yourself

When I first started my twin flame journey, I didn’t understand what it truly was.
Back then, I wasn’t thinking about spiritual growth, healing, or transformation.
I thought it was about love.
Unconditional love.
Many people believe unconditional love means loving someone no matter what. Ignoring red flags. Making endless sacrifices. Staying, even when it hurts.
This is one of the reasons the twin flame journey is often described as harsh.
But the truth is, the journey itself is not meant to be painful.
The pain comes from everything we are forced to confront within ourselves.
The twin flame journey is not here to teach self-sacrifice.
It is here to teach self-discovery.
Unfortunately, this is rarely discussed.
And when people do talk about it, they are often accused of playing the victim, being manipulative, or becoming trapped in their emotions.
Recently, I came across a review of my memoir that described it as having a “woe is me vibe.”
I smiled when I read those words.
Not because I felt offended.
But because I realized how much I have changed.
There was a time when I would have felt the need to defend myself.
To explain.
To convince someone that they misunderstood me.
Today, I feel no such need.
Perhaps the most important lesson of my journey has been learning that there is nothing wrong with feeling deeply.
We live in a world that rewards masks.
Be strong.
Be positive.
Move on.
Stop talking about it.
But healing does not happen because we pretend something no longer hurts.
Healing does not happen because we place a beautiful bandage over an infected wound.
Healing begins when we are willing to look directly at what lives inside us.
Grief.
Longing.
Heartbreak.
Confusion.
Love.
Hope.
All of it.
Without running away.
Without pretending.
Without forcing ourselves to wear a smile while our soul is quietly asking to be heard.
Unprocessed emotions do not disappear.
They simply wait.
And no, speaking your truth does not make you a victim.
Sometimes it simply means refusing to abandon yourself.
For those on the twin flame journey, this lesson is especially important.
Many twin flames spend years hiding parts of themselves in order to be accepted.
They suppress their intuition.
Silence their voice.
Hide their gifts.
Avoid speaking their truth because they fear judgment, rejection, or misunderstanding.
But the twin flame journey was never designed to make you smaller.
It was designed to bring you back to yourself.
Your authenticity is not a flaw.
Your sensitivity is not a flaw.
Your spirituality is not a flaw.
Not everyone will understand your path.
Not everyone will believe in twin flames.
Not everyone will understand your awakening.
Not everyone will resonate with your experiences.
And that is perfectly okay.
Other people's disbelief does not invalidate your reality.
You do not need permission to be yourself.
You do not need permission to speak your truth.
You do not need permission to exist exactly as you are.
Because the moment you stop expressing yourself, you begin abandoning yourself.
And for many twin flames, self-abandonment is precisely what prolongs separation.
One of the biggest misconceptions about the twin flame journey is the belief that separation ends when your twin flame returns.
I no longer believe that.
Separation ends when you return to yourself.
When you stop searching for someone else to complete you.
When you stop waiting for another person to validate your worth.
When you remember that your wholeness was never outside of you.
The more you hide yourself, the further you move from your soul.
The more authentically you express yourself, the closer you move toward alignment.
The twin flame journey is not about becoming someone else.
It is about finding the courage to become who you have always been.
Because the moment you stop expressing yourself, you begin abandoning yourself.
And the moment you return to yourself, the real journey begins.

This resonates so deeply. Choosing silence or hiding who we are just to please others or fit in is the ultimate form of self-betrayal. Thank you for this powerful reminder that staying true to our expression is essential for our growth, especially on a twin flame journey🫣🫢
