Why "Treat Your Twin Flame Like a Child" Might Be the Worst Advice on the Internet
There is one thing I wish more people talked about in the twin flame community.
If someone doesn't want—or simply isn't able—to hear you right now, it doesn't automatically mean you explained yourself poorly.
Sometimes, people are simply not ready.
And when that happens, explaining yourself stops being an act of love and starts becoming an endless attempt to earn understanding.
Eventually, you realize something important:
You don't have to keep explaining yourself.
That isn't coldness.
It's self-respect.
Recently I came across a piece of advice that genuinely made me laugh.
"Treat your twin flame like a child."
It's often presented as wisdom.
To me, it sounds more like spiritual bullying.
Because if you constantly treat another adult like a child, you're quietly accepting the role of the parent.
And parents carry responsibilities.
They understand for two.
They wait for two.
They forgive for two.
They justify for two.
They tolerate for two.
Healthy adult relationships don't work that way.
Even if someone is acting emotionally immature, it doesn't mean you have to become their teacher, therapist, or caretaker.
One sentence came to my mind recently:
"I don't even want to communicate with him while he's this unconscious—especially if he's choosing relationships with other women."
And honestly...
I don't think there's anything wrong with that.
It doesn't necessarily mean you don't love someone.
It simply means you have standards for the kind of relationship you're willing to participate in.
It's perfectly healthy to say:
"I only want to share my life with someone whose choices align with my values."
That's not avoidance.
That's discernment.
There is another idea that people rarely allow themselves to say out loud in the twin flame community:
You are not obligated to stay in a story simply because someone calls it spiritual.
If a relationship no longer reflects honesty...
reciprocity...
respect...
or emotional responsibility...
you have every right to step back.
Walking away from something that no longer aligns with your values doesn't make you less spiritual.
Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is protect your peace.
At some point, something shifts.
You stop asking:
"How do I get him back?"
"What is he thinking?"
"When will he awaken?"
Instead, your questions become completely different.
* What kind of life do I want to create?
* What inspires me today?
* What feels peaceful?
* What aligns with who I am becoming?
* What do I actually want?
That is what many people describe as Inner Union.
Not because another person disappeared...
but because you stopped making them the center of your life.
Ironically, that doesn't mean the story is over.
Nor does it guarantee any particular ending.
It simply means that your own life has finally become the main story.
You are no longer living as a reaction to someone else's choices.
You are living from your own.
And perhaps that is the healthiest kind of love there is.
Not the love that endlessly waits.
But the love that begins with yourself.
