When Self-Worth Becomes a Strategy

The twin flame journey has a strange way of revealing parts of ourselves that once felt completely ordinary from an entirely different perspective.
One of the hardest things I've had to admit wasn't that I lacked self-worth.
I've always had healthy self-worth and strong boundaries.
It was realizing that, sometimes, I had been using them as a weapon.
I wasn't doing it consciously.
Looking back, I can see that some of the things I believed were simply part of my personality were actually well-disguised trauma. I had lived with them since childhood for so long that I mistook them for who I was.
I was using my self-worth and my boundaries as a weapon.
Not against my twin flame.
Against my own vulnerability.
I spent two and a half years on the twin flame journey believing I was doing everything "right."
I had boundaries.
I respected myself.
I didn't chase.
I knew my worth.
At least, that's what I kept telling myself.
But recently I realized something that made me stop and think.
Sometimes lessons repeat not because you're making the wrong choices.
Sometimes they repeat because the motivation behind those choices is different.
Two people can make exactly the same decision for completely different reasons.
You can walk away because you genuinely know you deserve better.
Or you can walk away hoping they'll finally notice your absence.
From the outside, those actions look identical.
Inside, they're worlds apart.
The Difference Was Never the Action
I used to think the lesson was about learning boundaries.
Now I think it was about something much quieter.
Intention.
Was I choosing myself because it felt true?
Or was I secretly hoping my choice would change someone else's?
That question was uncomfortable.
Because the answer wasn't always what I wanted it to be.
Self-Worth Can Become Another Way to Control
Nobody teaches you this.
People tell you to choose yourself.
To know your worth.
To stop chasing.
But almost nobody talks about what happens when self-worth quietly turns into a strategy.
"I'll disappear."
"I'll focus on myself."
"I'll become successful."
"I'll heal."
Not because your soul genuinely wants those things.
But because, somewhere deep inside, you're hoping someone else will finally see you differently.
From the outside, it still looks like healing.
But it isn't freedom.
It's simply another form of waiting.
I Thought I Had Let Go
The strange part is that I truly believed I had.
I wasn't pretending.
I wasn't consciously trying to manipulate anyone.
But somewhere underneath everything, there was still a quiet calculation.
Maybe now...
Maybe this time...
Maybe after I've healed enough...
Looking back, I don't think I was trying to manipulate another person.
I was trying to manipulate the outcome.
Then Something Changed
Recently I made a decision that felt surprisingly simple.
I didn't make it because I knew where it would lead.
I made it because it felt right.
Only afterward did someone tell me that this decision would shape my future.
My first thought surprised me.
I'm glad I didn't know beforehand.
Because if I had known...
My ego would have wanted to get involved.
It would have wanted certainty.
It would have wanted guarantees.
It would have wanted to make the "right" decision for the future—
Instead of the honest decision for the present.
That was the moment I realized something.
Sometimes not knowing protects your authenticity.
It matters whether you're doing something because your soul genuinely wants it...
Or because you already know where it might lead.
The second is no longer about authenticity.
It's about trying to control the outcome.
Maybe Inner Union begins the moment you stop doing things in order to get somewhere...
And start doing them simply because they feel true to you.
Because your soul wants them—
Not because you expect them to produce a certain result.
You stop saying,
"You should give this to me because I'm worthy."
And instead, you quietly realize,
"I'm worthy regardless of what you give me...
Or whether you ever choose to see my worth at all."
Maybe That's Why the Soul Whispers
People often ask how to hear their intuition.
I don't think the soul is silent.
I think the ego is simply louder.
The ego wants proof.
The ego wants guarantees.
The ego wants to know exactly what every decision will bring.
The soul doesn't.
It simply says,
"This feels true."
And then it waits for you to trust it.
Self-Worth Is No Longer a Strategy
Today my boundaries look almost exactly the same as they always did.
They're no bigger.
No smaller.
What changed was the reason behind them.
I'm no longer choosing myself so that someone else will choose me.
I'm choosing myself because that's who I want to be.
Maybe that's the difference between self-worth as a weapon...
And self-worth as peace.
Or maybe it's even simpler than that.
The action didn't change.
The intention did.
And that changed everything.
