How to Sleep Through Your Entire Life (Or Why "Just Wait for Divine Timing" Might Be the Worst Advice on the Internet )

I spent two and a half years in the twin flame journey.

If I earned one dollar every time someone told me,

"Just wait."

"Divine timing."

"The Universe is preparing him."

"When it's meant to happen, it will."

...I'd probably have enough money to buy another crystal that promises to align my chakras in three business days.

The twin flame community has an obsession with waiting.

Waiting for signs.

Waiting for 11:11.

Waiting for the next full moon.

Waiting for Mercury to stop embarrassing itself.

Waiting for your Divine Masculine to suddenly wake up one morning with emotional intelligence.

Waiting has somehow become a spiritual practice.

And that's the problem.

Because waiting feels productive while requiring almost nothing from you.

It is the perfect trap.

You can spend years consuming content that convinces you you're "doing the work," while your actual life quietly slips away.

We Romanticized Pain So Much That We Forgot About Living

Somewhere along the way, suffering became aesthetic.

Every post says your pain has a purpose.

Every video explains why your separation is sacred.

Every carousel promises that if you cry just a little more, the Universe is definitely taking notes.

Eventually, the journey itself becomes your identity.

You don't heal.

You become someone who is healing.

Forever.

As I was coming out of my own transformation, I wrote a book called Under My Skin.

I didn't write it after healing.

I wrote it while I was still living through it.

I wanted to tell the truth.

How painful healing can actually be.

And how unnecessary it is to make that pain last longer than it has to—or to romanticize it.

My book received plenty of criticism.

Some people said it was too raw.

Too honest.

That it didn't fit the familiar twin flame narrative.

Because I wrote that the Divine Feminine was never the chaser.

In my experience, she is often judged, misunderstood, bullied, and even discouraged from speaking openly about what she is going through.

I challenged the comforting fairy tale that, in many online spaces, has turned separation into an endless cycle of waiting, searching for the next wound to heal, and believing that suffering itself is proof of spiritual progress.

The truth is much simpler.

Healing doesn't become lighter because we explain our pain better.

It becomes lighter when we finally return to ourselves.

Inner Union Doesn't Happen While You're Refreshing Tarot Readings

Here's the uncomfortable truth.

Inner Union isn't a reward you receive after surviving enough emotional suffering.

It isn't delivered by angels.

It isn't activated by repeating affirmations 777 times.

And it definitely isn't hiding inside another "Pick a Card" reading.

Inner Union is built.

It is uncomfortable.

It requires discipline.

Boundaries.

Honest self-reflection.

Changing behaviors.

Taking responsibility.

Making decisions your nervous system absolutely hates.

None of those things are glamorous enough to go viral.

Nobody Talks About the Work

People love talking about surrender.

Much fewer people talk about consistency.

Healing isn't only crying.

Sometimes healing is opening your laptop when you'd rather stalk someone's Instagram.

Sometimes healing is applying for the job.

Going to therapy.

Building your business.

Finishing your book.

Having difficult conversations.

Learning emotional regulation.

Taking long walks outside.

Petting your cat.

Feeding the birds at the lake.

Actually changing your life instead of making another vision board about changing your life.

Spirituality without action becomes procrastination wearing expensive linen clothes.

Divine Timing Is Real...

But People Use It Incorrectly

I do believe in Divine Timing.

I just don't believe it's an excuse for inactivity.

Divine Timing isn't permission to pause your life.

It's what happens while you're moving.

Doors open when you're already walking.

Not when you've been sitting in the waiting room for three years hoping the Universe eventually calls your name.

Maybe That's Why Some People Stay Stuck

Sometimes it's not because the Universe forgot them.

It's because waiting became safer than changing.

Waiting protects you from failure.

Waiting protects you from rejection.

Waiting protects you from responsibility.

As long as you're waiting, you never have to discover what happens if you actually become the person you've been talking about becoming.

That realization is terrifying.

But it's also where freedom begins.

The Goal Was Never to Become Better at Waiting

If your spiritual path teaches you to postpone your own life indefinitely...

Maybe it isn't wisdom.

Maybe it's avoidance dressed up as faith.

The irony is that many people enter the twin flame journey hoping to find unconditional love.

Instead, they accidentally develop unconditional patience.

Those aren't the same thing.

Your life isn't happening after the signs.

After the reunion.

After the next energetic shift.

After he texts.

Your life is happening now.

Life happens every single day.

And it is beautiful whether your twin flame is standing beside you or living on another continent.

Because Inner Union doesn't begin the day someone chooses you.

It begins the day you return to yourself—and finally start living your own life.
